NADFLY introduces her second ceramic series. She created three cat drawings to adorn bowls and jugs. 'U CATS ONE' is calling to you , 'U CATS TWO' is stalking the interior rim and 'U CATS THREE' is sitting at the bottom.
“The U Cats collection started its life in my garden in Sweden where a black cat adopted me. I wondered why was she so attracted to me? Was I part of her territory.... or is it something stranger than that?
One of my favourite pod casts is WNYC's Radio Lab show entitled 'Parasites'. It has a story about the parasite Toxoplasma gondii that "brainwashes" rats into craving cat urine. This parasite uses a remarkable trick to spread from rodents to cats: it alters the brains of infected rats and or mice so that they become attracted to the scent of their predators. The possibility is that toxoplasmosis is one cause of Schizophrenia in humans. So maybe this parasite makes cats attracted to us as well. Can loving cats make you crazy or are we crazy not too?”
